Mr. Reid is a member of the state bars of both New York and New Jersey and handles a wide range of intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark and patents, as well as immigration, housing, general business and family law. His practice has a particular focus on representing small technology-based clients in the internet and interactive entertainment industries, including game and app developers. Mr. Reid uses his extensive knowledge of the gaming industry to provide comprehensive advice and legal service to independent developers, helping them with drafting corporate documents, contract review, terms of service, licensing and setting up long term strategies for protecting their valuable intellectual property.
Mr. Reid is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, serving on the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law section’s Copyright and Trademark committee and moderating panels on developments in video game law. Mr. Reid began his career working for the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn representing clients in housing and New York Supreme court. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Reid worked as an intellectual property associate with Ropes & Gray LLP, where he represented leading technology, automotive, pharmaceutical, biomedical and software companies on a variety of complex litigation and transactional intellectual property matters. Mr. Reid holds a BA (Chemistry and Philosophy) from Colgate University and a JD from Fordham Law School.
